The open standard allows project data (stories, photos, videos) to be mapped, linked to a timeline of progress, and disseminated to multiple locations including the organization's website, the ActionMap that aggregates projects to promote greater connectivity amongst organizations, the RSS Readers of their supporters (similar to how one subscribes to a blog), and Google Earth presentations. This maximizes the return on an organization's outreach because they can engage their existing supporters while connecting to new audiences and like-minded organizations.
