Interested in becoming an accredited Startup Weekend Facilitator?

Since our first event, Startup Weekend has grown at an exponential rate and we have no reason to think that growth is going to slow down anytime soon! As a global organization we have a huge need for qualified, prepared Facilitators to team up with these first-time and in-network Organizers to bring every community we enter the best event possible.

What is the process of becoming an accredited Startup Weekend Facilitator?

Step 1: Find a Referrer

Have someone from the global Startup Weekend community – be it a past Organizer, member of the Core Team or another accredited Facilitator – send a recommendation to facilitator [at] startupweekend [dot] org describing why they think you are qualified to become an accredited Facilitator.

Step 2: Agree to the Read the Rules & Requirements

It is important that you understand the responsibility, commitment, and the role you are expected to play in the global Startup Weekend community. Depending on the strength of the recommendation provided by your referrer, we will ask that you agree to our Rules & Requirements and address any questions you may have.

Step 3: Apply

Once you have agreed to our Rules & Requirements, we will provide you a password to access our application form. Upon completing the application form, members from our Core Team will review your application.

Step 4: Training Curriculum & Online Reviews

If all looks GREAT on your application, you will be invited to download our training curriculum. Our training curriculum breaks down the details of facilitating. After you have worked through each section you will be required to complete online training reviews.

Step 5: Interview with Startup Weekend Core Team

After working through the training curriculum and completing the online reviews, we will schedule an interview with you to discuss your responses to the online reviews. Think of it as if you were a doctoral candidate defending your thesis against a panel of experts! :)
